Cayenne
Clearly thanks to the generous social system of France, Cayenne appeared to be a pretty laid-back city. Almost all of the shops were owned by Chinese. Even a Chinese baker was making fun of it, in French. Someone said to me in Guyana, next door, if you see a lot of pregnant women there, it's because the French pay for each child. The town is clean, colorful, but not one that's humming with activity. |
